We’ve been busy behind the scenes over the past few months.  First, a heartfelt thank you to all our new donors who joined us for the GlobalGiving Climate Action Campaign 2021 (we finished number 34) to help fund our Indonesian Greenworks students.  We raised double what we expected, so we’re thrilled that we’ll be able to continue supporting student projects through the rest of the year.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

The Spring 2021 cohort finished the curriculum and games at the end of April.  In addition to the Khairun University (Ternate, Indonesia) students, we were also joined by two groups of students from UNICAMP Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Campinas, Brazil) and their mentor, Dr. Roberto Greco.  One group of Indonesian students will continue to the grant stage to build a local project with us over the summer.  We will be refining the curriculum for the Summer 2021 cohort to better support Indonesian students and their mentors, as the digital active learning classroom has been a challenging adjustment, resulting in more attrition than we would like.  We’re also exploring adding more countries in Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 due to a high level of interest in the program.  Recruitment is still open, both for students in the Global South and partners in the Global North!
