Extend Learning Through

Environmental Stewardship Projects!

The Greenworks Program is designed to improve science learning through project-based learning.  But it goes beyond teaching students how to do traditional research projects.  Our community-centered approach, based on the Latin American “extension” model, will deeply involve you and your students in your local communities to tackle our shared environmental challenges and learn from others around the world facing similar challenges.

Network membership requires completion of a professional development program on active learning and review of the Project Design curriculum (certificates provided)

Student curriculum is available in English, Indonesian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Ukrainian

For Current Members

Teacher Certificates

If you have completed the active learning professional development workshop (Level 1) and have implemented the lessons learned into your classroom, you can apply for an Implementation Certificate (Level 2).  This certificate requires submission of documentation of the changes you’ve made and their impact as well as a site visit by our staff (either virtual or in-person).

Student Certificates

Students working with the Project Design curriculum can be eligible for certificates as well.  There are three levels of certificates:  Curriculum Completion (Level 1), Project Implementation (Level 2), and Co-Designed Project (Level 3).  Submission requires can range from a project proposal (level 1) to proof of work (level 2) to proof of community co-development (level 3).
